“Meet at the gas pump at 9:20!” Woody announced excitedly on the microphone at breakfast. With that, the Quills and the Foresters began to prepare themselves for a big day off camp. The rest of the dining hall held in their excitement as they awaited their in-camp schedules. “I really hope we get to play wiffleball today,” Sam said.
Waking up this morning to rain seemed like nothing new, even though everyone at The Realm dreamt of the sun. Around 10:00 am the clouds began to clear and the sky brightened, but Robin Hood was already off having a great day.
The Foresters traveled to a neighboring camp for a three-team basketball tournament. After returning to camp with one win and one loss, Ian said, “We can win that one game, I know it.” He and the squad were clear to note that they, “can’t wait to play that team again.” They will be practicing their sets and shooting free throws until they get the opportunity to step back on the court for more inter-camp play.
The Quills laced up their hiking boots and set off for Mt. Major. With bagged lunches in hand, they managed to get up and down the mountain in what seemed like record timing. “We were ready–it was easy!” they all chimed in. All of camp was impressed.
With the Fourth of July on the horizon and Sunday Sundaes behind us, Robin Hood has a lot to look forward to. The Jesters can’t wait for the popcorn tomorrow. The Squires are on the soccer field for what seems like hours. The Tumblers are debating what cozy corner flavor is best after a fun afternoon getting ice cream. The Archers continue to reel in fish from early-morning pontoon boat rides.
This is just business as usual at The Realm.
Goodnight from CRH.
