Woodchuck 6/7

The day began early here in the Realm with Girls Camp in the Dining Hall for a breakfast of: an
egg, cheese, sausage, croissant and cereals (hot and cold), fresh fruit, juice (apple, and orange). A
breakfast of champions, we hope! They boarded 12 vans and our bus and were on the way to Camp
Kenwood and Evergreen in Western NH for a play day, which will include each group in the following
sports:
● Softball,
● Basketball,
● Soccer,
● Volleyball
● Newcomb for younger campers.
They will play 2 games in the morning, have a GREAT lunch, and then will play two games in the
afternoon. Concluding by 4 p.m. so that they can get on the road back to Robin Hood for supper. It is one
of our B16 days of the summer.
Arriving at Robin Hood at 10:00 from Kenwood/Evergreen were 3 buses and 4 vans with their
whole boys camp. Here at Robin Hood, each age group will compete in
● Baseball,
● Basketball,
● Soccer,
● Flag football.
Great day of competition. Every camper will get playing time in one or more of the sports. This is the first
Spirit Day we have had with Kenwood/Evergreen since COVID. So it’s been long awaited! This is the
only camp we do this with. It began years ago, so we are very happy to bring it back.
What is involved in making it happen? There is a lot of work in every sports’ facility and in the
kitchen. Fields lined – courts blown and almost every field and court is being used! A lot of preparation!
Our athlete director and his team have put it all together the last couple of days.
The dining hall has planned an early breakfast for girls departing and then a regular breakfast for
boys.
Throughout the day, scores are kept for each sport and at the conclusion of the day, both camps
will tabulate wins and losses, and the top camp will be announced with creed, sportsmanship and
competition!
Robin Hood is happy for an overall victory today, BUT whatever the results are, we will have a
GREAT day of competition!
