Every day at Camp RobinHood is a BIG day and today was no exception! We hosted the 48th U13 and U15 boys basketball tournament where camps from the area came to battle it out for the championship. We had two teams in the 13U bracket, one of which went undefeated, beating every other team in the tournament and keeping the trophy in the realm! With limited practice time, the boys moved the ball, communicated well, and worked together to come out on top. The 15U team fell just short in the championship, with the last second half court shot hitting the rim and bouncing off. We are so proud of our boys’ competitive spirit and sportsmanship.

The Jesters had a HUGE day, starting off with a tee time at the mini golf course. In the afternoon they took a little trip to Cozy Corner before taking on the Tumblers in an evening activity challenge of dizzy kickball after dinner.

After a Green and White Break, a proclamation of a group “challenge” is the most exciting it can get in the dining hall. One group, typically the younger group, “challenges” another group to a sport or an activity, which they compete in that evening. In addition to the Tumbler-Jester challenge, the Arrows and Lancers competed in a Lipsync Battle, with both groups choreographing to a dead heat before the Lancers were victorious in the one-on-one dance off.

Today also marked the last day of our ENORMOUS new program at camp, FNOO (For the Needs of Others). Over the past several days, each group has spent multiple periods sharing how they can work together to be more mindful of others, both inside and outside the realm. At RobinHood, we want our kids to have the best summer ever, make lifelong friendships, but most of all, continue to become better people that make a positive impact on the world.

Watching the sunset as the Quills sing potential future Scribe songs makes us realize that time here really does fly. Before we know it, the littlest kids in camp, the Scouts and the TPs, will be Saxons and Scribes, then counselors and Group Leaders, and perhaps one day send their children here to be future Scouts and TPs.

Tomorrow will surely be another big day, with the Saxons and Scribes taking charge of camp for the 4th of July afternoon festivities. Sweet dreams from The Realm!
